After Care Instructions

Tattoo Aftercare

Do not expose to direct sunlight (tanning) or chlorinated water (pool, Jacuzzi) or open bodies of water (ocean, lakes, rivers).

  • Your new tattoo needs to properly heal. It is going to be on your body so you should give it the proper attention it needs.
  • Your new tattoo is an open wound and should be protected from sun and dirty environments. Do not touch your tattoo with dirty hands.
  • Keep your tattoo bandaged for at least four hours
  • Wash your tattoo with antibacterial soap, rinse well, and pat dry. We recommend that you wash your tattoo a couple times a day until healed. A little seepage is normal during the first few days and should be blotted off to avoid scabbing.
  • When applying A&D or Aquaphor, keep the tattoo slightly moist, not smothered. Use enough ointment to make the tattoo only slightly shiny.
  • You should only use ointment for 3 to 7 days while your tattoo peels. It will start to flake off. This is normal so let this happen.
  • Do not pick at any scabs that may occur for you risk the loss of color.
  • We suggest the use of A&D or Aquaphor.
